As a nonprofit leader and former U.S. diplomat I’ve represented the U.S. government and major nonprofit organizations in Central Asia, Russia, Germany, Israel, Austria, the Czech Republic, as well as throughout the United States. My travels inform my work, and when I’m standing at my desk you can find me writing blog posts, creating social media campaigns, making simple and beautiful websites, conducting interviews, or editing a podcast.
With more than 10 years’ experience working to increase community involvement in social action and philanthropy, I have demonstrated an ability to work with community leaders and groups from diverse backgrounds and across many departments within organizations. A quick study, I’ve learned new skills (such as podcasting) on the fly, and I love the opportunity to learn about a new topic and find ways to communicate its importance to others through various media.
To date my most exciting and fulfilling professional opportunity was coordinating all media aspects of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s official visit to Uzbekistan in 2011. With less than 30 hours’ notice I was tapped to produce four interviews with the Sunday morning news shows for Secretary Clinton on the critical topics of withdrawal from Afghanistan, the death of Muammar Qaddafi, and the war in Iraq.
Whether at home in Austin or abroad, I bring singular passion to helping organizations communicate their mission in the world.
